Raised Walkway Renovation
As you can see from the image and video below, the walkway has badly deteriorated. We would like to not only replace this walkway with a new sturdy one but widen it to allow for picnic tables. This would allow Veterans to eat their meals outside in nice weather. It would then also be able to be used for public speakers to be seen at events like Stand Down each year when up to 1500 Veterans can be gathered in this area at one time.
In the closeup images below you can begin to see how time has ravaged the concrete and brickwork of this walkway. While it has been determined to be safe at present, it is checked regularly to ensure the continued safety of the Veterans.
